Wedding Photography & Interior Photography | Assynt House, Evanton

I recently had the pleasure of photographing the interior of the stunning 5-star exclusive use venue, Assynt House, near Evanton in the Highlands of Scotland.

This eighteenth century mansion house was a ruin when Graham and Elizabeth Waugh purchased it in 2002. Three and a half years of renovation produced a tastefully decorated, luxurious, private, award-winning holiday house and wedding venue in a beautiful setting above the Cromarty Firth, a short drive from the Highland capital of Inverness.

After photographing a pagan wedding here on mid summer’s day in 2018, I was delighted to be commissioned to return to shoot the interior of the property. One of the things I love about my job is variety. A sunny outdoor ceremony in June with wedding guests and some lively young children was a complete contrast to being alone in Assynt House in winter, steadily working my way through each room with my camera, with time and space to admire (and photograph!) all the lovely features throughout this Georgian property.

Visit www.assynthouse.com for more information on Assynt House. If you’re planning a trip to the Highlands, why not get in touch to organise some photography to capture your stay? Whether it’s a family gathering, wedding or another occasion, I would be delighted to pop round to record your memories for you.

Here are a few photographs from Charmaine and Alistair’s wedding, followed by some images from the more recent commission.
